Jesus NDE

I think there’s more altered states than just NDEs.  Some people used to call them visions – but there’s been a lot of charlatans who claimed visions just to spread their ideas too.  Ir-reproducible events are ripe for fraud and hucksters.

Dreaming is an altered state with its own set of brain waves, and we still don’t know exactly what dreaming is, but we all do it – well most of us – I have a friend who doesn’t dream – but that’s due to a meningitis infection at age 12.  He doesn’t even remember what his life was like prior to age 12, except for what people have told him and what he’s seen in home movies. But he has a very high IQ.

DMT is a drug that is very strange.  Those who have taken it say they go to a different plane – and interact with strange blob like creatures that pop in and out of walls – and the weirdest part is everyone experiences the same thing including their interactions with the creatures when they compare notes – its highly reproducible unlike any other hallucination from other drugs.  The blob creatures seemed quite amazed when the humans notice them – apparently they are there where ever “there” is – but we never see them..  I’ve never been very curious about mind altering drugs myself – the brain is not something I like to tamper with.

I can barely stand it when the nurse puts a needle in my arm.  Not much of a drug or needle person.  I hate taking prescriptions but have to for a little while more.

My friend who runs the local Thai restaurant that I frequent sits on the board of the local Thai temple in Escondido.  We got to talking about meditation one time and he related a story to me about the warning monks are given during their meditation training – sometimes they see things happening as if their spirit was roaming free from the body [my interpretation] – the American Armed forces call it “remote viewing” and it seems to be something anyone can do if trained – but this sometimes happens spontaneously during meditation.  Monks are told they are not to speak about what they see, for example who slept with who, who stole what, who took what bribe, they are only to show love and kindness to all and not disturb the path of those who they accidentally spot during meditation.  Their awareness seems to expand quite a bit unlike the usual mental state.

Jesus spent a lot of time in solitude in the wilderness – bringing his mind into peace and stillness, I don’t think he spent it praying all that time, although I am sure he did plenty of that too.  Those hills used to be covered in cedars, only a few remain in Lebanon.  Someone once put it “my cathedral  to God is the forest”.

Lots of strange stuff in this universe, like the cowboy from 1800s who showed up in 1950s New York and neither he nor the people met knew what the hell happened.  All his documentation and clothing was without signs of aging and all from that period, even the labels and fabrics.
