Because their zeal to honor the great One was done in the great One’s name, no one felt guilty about persecuting their own tribes-people like this. They were simply putting the great One first, making their sacred obligation take precedence over all human relationships. Every group claimed that they alone had the true sacrament of the great One’s presence whilst the others were either deluded or disobedient to the heavenly vision. The once happy people were racked with bitter divisions and hatreds over this issue of identifying and distinguishing what was supposed to be sacred and what was supposed to be common. That which was supposed to unite them only succeeded in dividing them.

When the light of Baha’u’llah dawned from the East, he proclaimed the promise of the oneness of humanity. There is no darkness; all is light. All are the servants of God, and man must love humanity from his heart. He must, verily, behold humanity as submerged in the divine mercy.’

But the arrogance here was in claiming their new gods were the product of rationality, empiricism, myth-free reason, and good science. They claimed the rational high ground and derided the simple believer in the metaphysical and divinity. Yet in essence what is the fundamental difference between their new gods and God?.

This spirit of the prophets so moved Yoseph that he decided to do the really human thing, the supernatural thing, and decided he would take this violated girl and this child into his own house. Now Yoseph already had some children (in this I take the Catholic position) and from his point of view Yeshu was now the youngest, rather than the oldest (although Miriam’s firstborn) of course Yeshu was the youngest! The oldest is generally the conservative one in the family, whilst the youngest is generally the one who is more inclined to be the rebel against the established ways.
