Getting to Know Yourself

By Henry Hasse

Coming to know who you are is a very individual matter.  Not even support groups can enforce resilience during traumatic times.  It takes most of a lifetime of experience until we finally recognize the Light from within that shines on our Godness.  Yes, I spelled that correctly!  I happen to think that this realization occurs when we finally compare the results of using two opposing mindsets, namely, (1) the ancient mindset of getting even with disobedience to our rules, especially if we sincerely think those rules are “holy” and god-given, while still noticing that tit for tat only brings on more tit for tat; and (2) the alternative mindset that notices how unconditional mercy has the internal power to change things for the better, given enough time and patience of course.
