The very first line of this article shows how sadly out of touch this author is. How presumptuous
to claim that "most people who claim to love someone don't really love them". This is limiting unlimited love. I am saddened that you would even publish such rubbish.

From a science site re the fact that all the atoms in our bodies are replaced over a 7 year period (every seven years we get a whole new body but, dammit, the old imperfections still carried over <:). All cells, except brain cells are also replaced (but all the atoms or matter of brain cells are replaced). This expresses basically what much brain/mind research has concluded- that the mind/consciousness and the human self or person is immaterial and is not produced by the brain or by matter (it is mediated through the brain but not dependent on the brain for its existence or survival). Consciousness and the human self is its own fundamental reality. The most real thing about us and about anything, yet invisible, immaterial, and totally mysterious. Entire books have been written on this such as The Conscious Self by David Lund and The Conscious Mind by David Chalmers or The Mind and the Brain by Jeffrey Swhartz and Sharon Begley or The Spiritual Brain by Mario Beauregard or the numerous good books by Sir John Eccles, the famous Nobel laureate neuroscientist (The Human Mystery, The Wonder of Being Human).

“Think of an experience from your childhood. Something you remember clearly, something you can see, feel, maybe even smell, as if you were really there. After all, you really were there at the time weren’t you? How else could you remember it? But here is the bombshell: you weren’t there. Not a single atom in your body today was there when that event took place….Matter flows from place to place and momentarily comes together to be you. Whatever you are, therefore, you are not the stuff of which you are made. If that doesn’t make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, read it again until it does, because it is important”

Every since my youth this concept has troubled me, but everyone around told me it was the way to God, so I accepted it.

Thankfully I know better now and live with the joy of knowing that God is more reasonable than that.

Read Forged under Religious History. This article is on two amazing authors who create a picture that is fascinating, clear and at times so illuminating that it fills ones whole soul and mind. Bart D. Ehrman in his book Forged gives the research on who wrote the New Testament. Stephen Mitchell while appreciating the research in "The Gospel According to Jesus" writes a book that uniquely delights to the degree that it instructs. Stephen makes the case that Jesus true sayings, can be identified apart from research. They have a certain spirit about them, a self evident ring of truth, a spirit of total abandonment, exaggerated generosity http://www.norwaycandagooseparka.com/Canada-Goose-Yorkville-Parka-CG1.html and an almost fanatical letting go of material things and even life itself.
